Ordered a New GoPro, do I need a mic?

Hey everybody :),

I used my christmas money to order a GoPro HERO3+ :D, I am going to use it for filmmaking purposes, so I am wondering, should I get a microphone for it? Would it be beneficial? Also, what other GoPro accessaries should I get for filmmaking, besides the tripod mount, which I already ordered.

probably if you want reall really good sound. the go pro sound while not terrible it's not all that great either.[DOUBLEPOST=1389323207,1389323139][/DOUBLEPOST]

definately get the head strap for it!! do some FPS style videos we've done a couple and they turned out pretty niffty!
 
If it is not in the case the mic is all right but when you have the GoPro in the case the sound can get real muffled and echo-like.
 
We used a Gopro for many of hour videos, but the audio was really bad. Keep in mind that you need firstly a USB adaptator to plug in the microphone.
 
The accessories you will need depend upon how you will be using the camera and where it will be mounted etc.
I will shortly be reviewing the GoPro Mic Adapter, as well as the 3+ Skeleton case, the BRLS Mounts, the WiFi Remote Mounting Kit......and loads more in the pipeline!

Ive also just purchased a large case for my GoPro cameras and all accessories etc - I'll create a video on the setup soon as I seem to have amassed quite a GoPro collection of cameras, accessories, and mounts!

Be careful on the Gopro hero3+ . I dont know if you have done your research on them, but alllll of the first 3 production run gopros had a image focus problem. August, September, and October production runs. Most everyone I know that has one of those production dates, had an out of focus lens. To find the production date, just look on the bottom of the box and it is the first 4 numbers of the serial number. Just giving you a heads up.
