Opinions on shout outs?

It won't be a mess of inactive subs and false views if they end up liking your content. Theres a difference between people spamming shoutouts when they have little to no quality content and are just doing it for subscribers. I plan on starting a shoutout series soon myself.
 
In my opinion, shoutouts is not a good idea if the YOUTUBERS are not good friends. The content creators just do this to get subs and ignore the fact of making the subscribers feel like their real friends. However I am fine with the SHOUTOUTS.

It will lead to that if everybody involved in the series is just in there for themselves. Most people who will sub to others in this series just do so because their chances of getting a shoutout the week after will increase. If your series is going to be a generic shoutout sunday with loads of rules like 'stay active' and 'say I sent you' you aren't doing others any favours. If you are giving genuine shoutouts then there won't be fake views and inactive subs
 
Someone messaged me once saying they'd like to shout me out. but I had to subscribe and had to comment, so I was like nah not interested then. for me at least, if I shout someone out in a video it's because I genuinely like what they do, not for reciprocal subs or likes. it's very hard not to want to do something for your own benefit,, because that's the nature of what we do...we want to grow so that one day we can earn a living from something we love. But for me, I make videos because I really really enjoy it, and I think if someone gave me a genuine shout out, I'd be absolutely over the moon Wether they had 2 subscribers or 1 million.
 
I always say if your going to shout someone out be sure to say only subscribe to their channel if you do like there content I dont think having inactive subscribers is any good
