One Off Payment Offer For Running Ads - Is It A Scam?

Hi all

A content manager from Network of One has recently contacted me & offered me, what appears to be, a too good to be true, one off payment for running ads on a few of my videos.

I seem to remember reading a post on this forum about a similar offer, but at the time I didn't follow the replies & now I can't find the original post, so I'm not sure if this is a scam or not.

They're offering me a one off payment of $6,600 to run ads on just 6 of my videos, the offer only applies to the ad space & I (apparently) retain sole ownership over the creative content.

If this is legit then I would be interested as I'm currently working on a new channel & the 6 videos in question are done & dusted & would take a couple of years to earn me the same amount through the normal YT monetization set up.

I haven't replied to Network of One yet as I wanted to get as much info on them as I can before I speak to them.

So has anyone had (or heard of) one these `one off offers' before?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Fuzzy.

I would do some research on them and I think it's a scam

I had created a separate topic on them here, that company contacts pretty much anyone with a channel.

I'd say do your research anyway. From my point of view they just look shady from the massive amounts of spam they send to channels (They tweet about 5-6 channels a minute last time I checked and I've gotten 10+ emails from them / their bot even after saying no)

Thanks for tip off Shane. The thing that I find strange is the amount their offering is far more than my 6 videos are worth based on their current daily views.

Initially, the videos in question did go viral, but nowadays the 6 videos only get around 20k views a day between them & their offer is only a couple of weeks old, so you would think they would have done their research & realised this.

If & I know this is a big if, they do pay the money up front, I might be tempted to accept their offer as I'm pretty much done with my old channel as it's only earning me around $20 a day .. so I would actually be happy to just grab their money & run.

Currently earning $20/ day means you'd reach the $6,600 in less than a full year's time. Factoring in Sept-December's increased CPM, and you could easily earn that much by year end.

If they're offering anything less than what you could make in 3 years, it sounds more like they'll be the ones grabbing the money and running.

I received an offer from them roughly a month ago... offering me about half of what the video had earned me in the past year alone. Needless to say, I laughed (a lot) and told them to never contact me again.
