Hey Guys,
I have been having trouble designing my OneChannel Banner. Now, I have been designing for a few years now but this is just annoying me. Not only is the size for the new banner (2120x1192) insanely big, but I somehow have to make this under 1mb? The file is larger then a damn desktop background, and doing anything creative results in a massive file?

Can anyone give me some tips or advice on saving the file to a desirable size, preferably under 1mb hahaha.

If your on Photoshop, when saving it as a JPEG, you can control the quality and size via the slider. I think you can take it down from 12 to 8 and it still be high quality. This reduced mine to under 1mb so maybe try that. Also if your program has layers, merge them before saving as the more layers is a greater size :D

I saved mine as a JPEG at full quality. It was about 600kb at the end :)

Pretty much like mine, I only reduced it down 1 and it was well below 1mb. Depends how much you have on it I guess, just made mine really simple as it was 11pm and I just needed sleep

Thanks guys, I just saved mine has a JPEG at High Quality and it turned out pretty well. You can check it out at my channel if you want? :D Cheers for the help guys

When you go on photoshop try to enter the size that they give you on the page about the one channel. Design your thing. Save it as a jpg. If it is not under 1mb they try to go to image size and change the resolution to a lower number then save it

I know how to do it man. I have been designing for a few years, but with the old layout there was no need to even consider Jpg files, that is why I asked. But thanks anyway :)

You might also want to try 'Save for Web' which is just underneath the save as option. Then pick between PNG 24 & PNG 8, for example is something is around 1.3m in a 24 format dropping down to 8 would be around 700kb which is exactly what you want, although the graphics may pay a price :p

Thanks, but if you read my previous post I did state that I had been designing for a while ;) Haha. I am quite familiar with the "Save for Web" option, and in fact even PNG 8 was to big for the design. So, I had to save in High Quality JPEG. It was only a minor quality difference between the HQ Jpeg and Png-24. So, I guess it is something that we will have to deal with seeing the MASSIVE dimensions for new channel art.
