Non-profit based channels, getting profit from copyrighted movies?

Hey guys I'm wondering how a 'non-profit based' videos that use copyrighted videos get away with copyright. For example, TFS is using Dragon Ball to produce videos but with 'non-profit' intentions as their disclaimer. Now don't get me wrong, I do like to watch their videos but I'm just curious on how this isn't profiting from the anime itself? I mean they have a million subscribers and can easily gain profit from ads on their websites or from selling t-shirts. Also if this is in the wrong section please move it thanks

They had issues with it when they first started out. Kaz said he couldn't only wait till he got in contact with the higher up at Funimation, and asked permission. That little disclaimer before each episode helps, but the main fact is that they got permission to use it. TFS is a great example of what hard work, dedication, and perseverance can do.
