No more tags on youtube?

I noticed today that I can't see any tags for videos (mine or others). The only way to see them is to go into the video editing page and click info. I'm assuming everyone else is seeing this too? Anymore info?

No I don't see them! But they still seem to effective (I tag all of my videos 'Stefan mcmillan' and when I searched that my videos came up). That's such an odd thing for them to do....
 
I can't see them either, and also, I looked around on the YT and YT developer blog (and a few other places) and no word whatsoever as to what is going on. Just right click>page source > CTRL+F : "KEYWORDS"

There ya go...
It's not cause it is not straight up in your face anymore, that it is gone...
 
just noticed it. well, wasn't there some scandal or something with some youtuber essentially stealing tags? this could be their response to that

Dude, people rip off videos...of course they will steal tags too. They can't erase em from their algorythm just like that. They are still there. Read my post just above yours.
 
well I never said they were gone. I was saying that they hid them in order to prevent stealing of tags. can't steal them if you can't see them. then again, you did mention that in your first post, and I foolishly did not see it, lol
 
YT Creators tweeted that they've made the tags private and still encourage youtuber's to use tags when uploading videos. All is well so there's nothing to worry about
 
I wonder if people will start stuffing their videos with irrelevant tags now since you have to view the source to see them :D Thankfully they are still there, I cant imagine YouTube removing them completely.
