New idea to work with, and some help?

So basically, I've been getting tired of making Let's Plays, hell I don't enjoy my own let's play game (Recording the video or editing it), why will people? So I've decided to put it off a while and play something that I like and would be entertaining for people. As you can see, my upload rate has kind of gone to s***, but that's because I haven't really been enjoying making the videos that are there, or even feel like recording the same thing anymore.

Therefore I came up with this:

Play some crappy flash games, and play the unnecessarily horrible games I've got stacked up in my Steam account just for the chuckles. I certainly would be able to add more commentaries to a bad game (in a funny way) than the game I'm currently doing. Might be fun for people who watch it as well? Or should I continue my let's plays? Because as I stated, I'm not enjoying it all that much. It's just that in let's play videos, the game still remains the same except a few surprises here and there, and the current game I'm doing? I'm not enjoying it a whole lot since there's nothing extra to add to commentaries when playing it. A part of the story is sometimes revealed now and then, but ehhh. It just doesn't feel that entertaining, nor do I have much to talk about in them.

Opinions and help please, thank you!

If you want to do something else than what you typically do, then go for it! You may even draw in a bigger audience who's attracted to your new idea. I really like it actually, and it should definitely earn some giggles. Taking risks is a huge part of a channel, and if you're worried about disappointing people, then you could always occasionally upload another Let's Play from time to time. Even if you don't, it's your channel, so if you need to do something different to start enjoying your own content again, then your audience will understand.

Well you should only make videos if you're enjoying MAKING them, but as for viewing them I don't think this matters as much. A lot of YouTubers ( SSSniperwolf, Jacksepticeye and more ) have also said that they don't enjoy watching their own videos, because after all what's going to be entertaining about watching yourself sit there and speak, especially since you already know what you're going to say. If you feel that the content is good you shouldn't be concerned because you yourself aren't enjoying it, but if you're not even enjoying playing/making it then you should probably switch things up

For this reason, I started a series called Thief Sillybuggers, which instead of doing a let's play of a game called Thief: The Dark Project, I muck around with the level editor and turn it into a comedy. I enjoy making it, watching it, and sharing it with others. It's a nice change of pace from my Minecraft videos, too.

Playing bad games can definitely be very funny and entertaining! My strongest recommendation is that for a video like this, you concentrate on maintaining good pacing (editing-wise). If it were me I'd only show the funniest and most broken moments from these games. For an example of this kind of video and fantastic pacing, check out videogamedunkey.

Yeah, thank you! I'll make the video tonight! :)

Thanks for you advice!

I've moved this to the video ideas and planning forum. ^_^
