New channel question

Usual guy thinking about starting a YT channel. My question is should the content be things that i like or things that work? What i mean by this is I have seen certain channels and gotten ideas on what would work in order to get better results. If I find a certain layout for the video or a thumbnail idea that I like, but would probably not get me as many views or likes as another, which should i go with?. Im not necessarily going after building up a huge amount of viewers/subscribers or getting "youtube famous", however I don't want my videos to have like only 5 people watching them because of a certain layout I use that is ineffective.

I think the best you can do is try to do both what you like and also works and kind of meet them halfway?

If you dont create what you enjoy eventually you will stop. You got to do things that you enjoy and add bits that you believe others will like. If you do stuff that isnt what you enjoy it will also reflect in your videos.

You should go for the content that you like.
Don't worry about the "5 people", I'm sure that there will be a lot of people that will enjoy your own style :)

repeating what everyone's already said, do what you enjoy.
see if you can do both, channels can have stale moments and dips, and its those that work through those times that have a better shot at making it.
when you lose a subscriber doing something you love, it doesn't bother you as much, because you'd be making those vids anyways (treat it like a hobby)
if you lost a subscriber when trying to be popular, then you end up failing at the one thing you're trying to do, and it will probably be super disheartening.
