Request New Channel Banner Template For Dummies?

So, YouTube is going to force me into the new channel design in 3 days. I don't want my channel to look like poop- so I need to design a banner. Fine.

I'm not sure what the dimensions are that I am allowed to work with, and I don't want to work SUUUUPPPER hard on this banner, to find that when I upload it, that it will stretch it or smush it and make it look awkward and bad. I have a good idea for what I want it to look like, I just don't know if I have the creative abilities to do it- so it will take a lot of work, so there is no room for surprises.

Does anyone have a template that I can download that is easy to use and WILL NOT give me any surprises when I upload it to my channel?

You know you can ask someone on the forums, tell them what you want and they make it!

I use this It's perfect size ! & uploads to youtube It works for me

Evan eckard has the best template, shows you were the avatar is and everything, Use that for best effect

It's SLIGHTLY complicated though That's why I wanted to give it a go myself. That way, if I don't like it I'm only bothering myself. Ya know? I don't want to annoy anyone
