Nervous when uploading a video?

Howdy guys.

So I'm sitting here waiting for my latest video to complete uploading and I can't believe how nervous I am. My heart is racing, my palms are sweaty and honestly my hands are a little shaky.

Yet I can't understand it. Why am I so nervous? The video I've been working on for the last few weeks is finally going to be shared out there with the open world. Is it the fear of failure? People not liking it? Even without a great deal of subscribers it's still nerve-racking to me.

That leads me to another idea. Imagine what hugely renowned YouTubers must go through before uploading. It's honestly just as bad as waiting backstage before going on and performing in front of a group of people.

Who's with me on this? And what do you do to calm the nerves?

They don't go through anything really, they get used to it, everyone does. You will too. My issue with doing commentary isn't nerves it's trying not to get immersed too much in the game that I go quiet xD Reviews and random rants I can do fine now, I'm fairly confident, just got to be better with scripting so I don't derail topics and such. The more videos you do the more confident you will become.

I don't get that when I'm uploading. Usually, when I upload videos, I'll do like three or four at once and schedule them out one week at a time. So I get really excited for people to see my videos, especially knowing I have to wait until the next Thursday before another one will be public. I do get nervous when recording sometimes, but that has significantly improved as I've done more videos. :)

Yeah I get nervous but mainly as I am filming, but as Andrew said I am sure that confidence will come and the nerves will go just takes more practice

my problem is that i get nervous before i star making the video and that just ruins it for me but in my opinion if you made it and you are happy with it then you have nothing to worry about lol

I never really get nervous when uploading. However, I get extremely nervous sitting behind the microphone and forcing myself not to mess up :)

Ahaha... I feel ya on this one.
I have no idea why I get so nervous, I guess its the fear of failure? I have no idea because I work hard and I'm happy with the video as I edit it but when its about to go public I get nervous to see the comments D:

Sorry to hear that folks are getting nervous. But if you all are happy with what you're doing and the videos that you're making (and you should be) then everything else should work itself out. Tyler Oakley did this really cool interview where he said something along the lines of "There is an audience out there waiting for you. All you have to do is supply the you."

Sure there is always going to be room for improvement when it comes to production value, comfort level in front of the camera, etc... But you should never be concerned about whether or not folks will like YOU. That is a real life truth and it applies just as much on YouTube. Do you. Some folks won't like you. Some will. And then every now and then, you will find someone who LOVES you!

Next time you are anxious about a new vid's reception, try to turn that into excitement. "I hope someone new finds me today!"

Wow guys, I never thought this would return so much helpful advice. Thank you all so much! :)

And beautifully put my friend! What a great way to turn anxiety around into something more constructive. Thanks!
