Need help with writing or need a writer!

Hey Guys,

I've basically come to realise that I suck at writing comedy, probably due to the dryness of my humor, and currently running an animated comedy YouTube channel. Yes that sounds like it doesn't mix very well and you're right.

Basically, what tips and tricks are there to help nail comedy writing. I'm British and my audience are mostly American so that cant be any help!

I actually spend a lot of time writing comedy, I've written my own TV show and am writing a narritive podcast at the moment which hopefully I can produce instead of just sending it everywhere I can like the TV script!

I'm also British and write loads of comedy sketches, plays and stories. I've never fully completed any play and story ideas though as I then get another idea and have to write it down before I forget.

One things for certain I will defo say is don't sanction yourself!!
Meaning don't block your ideas in the thoughts that people may or may not find it funny. Because that would basically apply to everything you write. Not everyone will find your ideas funny and if there is something you are not too sure about, do it anyway! If it works BRILLIANT! if it doesnt, then it gives you a better idea of your audience.
My humour is quite random, dark at times, dry at times. I mostly enjoy the unexpected. i grew up with Monty Python so that should give you a basic idea haha.

my channel was originally going to be stop animation for my ideas as well ^_^
I just found it took faaaar too long to edit as its just me doing everything. I then realised I needed back drops, props, chairs etc which knocked my motivation even more.
