I've Got It
i recent switched to the new layout and when i upload videos they all of a sudden look wrong with my recent video it has a black box all around the video

please help because it looks really bad

This has been happening to quite a number of people. Some YTtalkers did post about this. I don't know how I can help you, but I think I can tag a person who had this problem. (I hope i remembered correctly). pawtaytoe
 
Yes, I had this exact same problem dude. It's not a problem with you or your videos, its a coding error within YouTube since the new View Page has been implemented. What you have to do is now render your videos in 20148x1152 (Widescreen HD) and that should solve the black bars issue, because that's the only thing I could do that worked.
