need help with movie maker

i use windows movie maker for my videos, but when i upload the video it does not fill the whole video screen size, now i found that on movie maker i can make videos wider, but even with this setting on it reverts back to small size again once uploaded, hope i posted this in right place, i'm new.

does anyone know any way to make my videos wider, or any software that will help?

Try Lightworks, if you're looking for something free. It has a lot more options

I think you can download some HD presets for movie maker.
