Need Help with Microphone!

I've Got It
I recently bought an Editors Keys SL300, from what I have heard it is an excellent mic. It comes in at around $200 with a stand included at editorskeys.com. But here is my problem, I am not getting the sound quality form it that I should! I have quite a lot of background noise in the mic, I removed two fans from my pc and it helped reduce the noise a little but it still sounds rather bad. Before I got my Editors Keys SL300 mic I was using the mic on the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Headset which I loved, but I know my new mic is capable of producing better sound. I am just having trouble getting that quality. Can someone help!?

Use Audacity, do sound equalization, compression and noise removal.

Goldwave is audio editing software, you can edit out unwanted noise and more but I never tried how to clear it up with Audacity, you should try that since Audacity is free

Turn your gain down. High quality mics are often sensitive mics. You get background noise because your mic is now good enough to hear all of the garbage going on in your room. Furnace, washing machines, cars outside, computer fans, all ambient junk. Turn the gain down and get closer to the mic. Noise removal in post is something you should know how to use but don't rely entirely on it. You want as clean a sound going into post a you can get.
