Need a little help..

I'm looking to enlarge my fan base/audience. Any suggestions? I do make vlogs, but I am discontinuing them because most of them are not very good. So I am starting over and putting all my effort into making quality and entertaining skits and thinking about doing other kinds of videos. Also, I am thinking about doing gaming videos and I was wondering what kind of mic I should use for commentaries and such. Please let me know and help me out!
 
well first bring out those videos, then don't beg for subs likes etc and make a twitter so you can have a place of communication and the rest will fall into place!
 
Heya Tyler, first up...the best two ways of enlarging your fan base is passive - you sit back and let people findo your videos themselves, sounds silly but it works well. Or you can create facebook page and twitter, tell your firends to follow and then they'll tell their friends. (This one can be a little embarrassing)

Next Up...If you want to do commentaries, the best mic you can get for around £40-£50 is a Behringer-C1 Condeser Mic. It provides excellent sound quality but will require 'Phantom power' (You will need a mixer as well). If you want a USB mic, I would suggest the 'Blue Snowball'. It costs around £70 but is USB powered and provides an also exceptional sound quality. The final option really would be an external recorder 'Zoom H1' for around £70. This provides good sound quality but also allows you to record without using your computer so you could use it for filming as well. It allows you to copy the file to the PC and edit it normally and you can plug an external mic into it to replace the Stereo Mic's built in. I would prefer the Blue Snowball as it is the easiest to use and will provide great sound quality. If you want something more profesional, get a Behringer C-1 and a mixer or if you want portability, use a Zoom H1.

I already have a twitter. I am in the process of writing out scripts and then they will the production on my videos will begin! I just don't want to rush videos out. I want to make them as good as I can so everyone will enjoy them!
 
Yeah, I don't blame you. I would rather see great content, once a week rather than bad quality videos, daily.

Oh I've tried passing my YouTube around on my twitter and facebook. I gain a few subs but not enough to really make an impact. I really haven't had anyone push my name around either.

I've heard of Blue microphones and will probably go with that! Although I am looking to get an external mic for some videos I will shoot. But that is a little ways down the road. Do lavalier mics plug into the Zoom H1? Cause if they do that would be money!

See and that's my problem with my vlogs right now. You can go look at them, I'd maybe have one or two good vlogs a week. Mainly a weekend, because I am in college. Hahaha. Now I want to get to the point where I get a fan base where I can start vlogs again at some point. But on a separate channel where all my subs will also go to. To keep my videos organized and such.
