Need a better mic

It can. Though it takes more fiddling on the iphone than the ipad to get it to work.

Yeah I looked into that, I have a camera connector but when I plug it into my iPad 3 it says, "not enough power for this USB device".

None that I can find. The Apple Store did have a mic for sale that can plug in directly to an iPhone or iPad as well as USB for about $200.00. I opted to go with the Yeti instead and will just carry out a netbook with me if I need to record on location.

I went with the Yeti .. in the store there was only a $50 difference in price.

I use the G-Track. With that microphone you will have all in one. It has given me a quality oriented Audio with out any latency. I will be purchasing Studio monitors for using G-Track with them. G-Track gives me a professional sound at a lower cost. I am setting up my home studio for recording purpose. And this Baby will gonna give me a quick start.
