Name Problem

Hi all!
My channel is called PetaZetasTv (around 1000 subs) , I thought it was a original name, but one week ago, I found one bigger youtuber called PetaZeta, who is 51k subs. Now my question, what would you do? Would you change your name or stay with the same? I think I'll ask him if I can maintain this name or if he is upset.

Change ASAP if you want your channel taken seriously, and to avoid trouble in the future. This is why it's best to check ahead of time.
 
Yes change it. But when you do, make sure you actually do some research to check if the name is used a lot elsewhere. Search YouTube and both Google, check at minimum the first 2-5 pages. The reason for this is that if you channel becomes big you don't want to cause any confusion. People are going to end up confusing you with the other channel and vice versa, it will cause problems. Think of it as not just a name but a brand. E.g. My channel name is Wolf Wraith, but my brand is WolfWraithGames, since Wolf Wraith is also the title of a book that's not very popular or well known from what I could see, so I had to add the "Games" to the end. In your case, adding the "TV" to the end doesn't help because of the PetaZeta thing already being fairly popular, it kind of makes people think PetaZeta has a 2nd channel or something.
 
For changing my name I must create a new channel or keep the url user/PetaZetasTv and just change my google+ name, and then in my channel will appear that name althought my url still petazetastv

I'm confused about this too. You can just request your network to set-up a channel as vanity url. I made a new channel with WhatsUpMark as the link, then I plan to message them to partner it so that I can set up as redirect url

You can change your channel name via Google+ but the URL will remain the same unless you create a new channel with a new URL. Or as stated above check with a network. I had no idea they could change your URLs.

You're original channel url will still be the same, but you can use another partnered channel to let it redirect to your main channel. You can try mine. youtube.com/MarkUncovered. My channel name is TheMarkSquared :3.
