My top tips on how to start being productive! (W/ Youtube)

Environment

Depending on what you want to be productive in, put yourself in an environment where you can focus the most. If you are going to study for school, go to the library.. if there is no library near you, try to make the best of the situation. Try to rearrange your room a bit so you get a new kind of feeling, that certainly helped for me and Klaudia. For some reason the room had a huge effect on our productive mood, so we just decided to move things around and switch the lights to something way more comfortable for our eyes.

Goals

We all have big goals and dreams. But that can’t be the first destination. Make small goals for yourself with some sort of deadlines. For example, me and Klaudia want to become active on Youtube and to grow a channel that we love to produce for, but all too often we got stuck in “not doing anything”.. This happened basically because we didn’t have a proper schedule for ourselves. So we decided to put two deadlines, to upload a video every wednesday and saturday. That gives us both one week to work on one episode. Which is plenty of time. But it’s just about putting yourself in that productive position. Once you are there, It’s hard to allow yourself not to be productive.

Results

A big tip is to not let the results come in your way of being productive, if you get disappointing results, that should motivate you to do even better the get the results you want. For example, getting a low grade in school, or coming second in a race.. or if we get low views & ratings on our videos, that won’t stop us from making more, that will only make us want to create more. Because we know it is not supposed to be easy to get the results you want. It needs to be hard, if it wouldn’t be hard, then everyone would be doing it.

Planning

Planning is good. But don’t plan too much. Planning too much might actually cause you not to do anything. You will just get the feeling that everything is a mess in your head. So prioritise what you should do and plan small first. It’s important that you just get started.

JUST DO IT NOW, DON’T DO IT TOMORROW

Time is not giving a f*ck about you, it’s way ahead of you, and time will run out, so you better get started now before It’s too late. Do It Now. Not Tomorrow. Now.

If you have more tips to add, be sure to comment that! :)

Great tips! Specially since i have fallen off of youtube the last few months and had a few to little excuses on why i did. There is always time to do it, you just have to want to do it. Sometimes all you need is motivation and you start creating great quality content. Thanks a lot for this thread!

Good stuff! I hear a lot of people talking about motivation, and to me, if I wait for motivation, I don't get anything done. Better to just do things and worry about whether I'm motivated or not later. :)
