My Roxio Freezes Every So often

Well, I bought a Roxio hd game capture device because I wanted to make youtube videos, and Ive noticed that every so often, while im editing it freezes, I do not know why it does this but it really sucks for making montages and stuff like that, the more editing I do, the more likely it freezes. It really sucks because the device was expensive, I don't know if it is a bit defective or what Please help,
