So I picked up a new macbook pro the other day. I needed it for school and some other stuff, the retina screen look great in store, and 13 inch's was the perfect size. While the computer looked great, I wasn't gonna pay $1500 for it, so I look at apple's refurbished deals and found a good price. Next thing you know it was at my door. If you buy refurbished, the computer doesn't come the in same new apple box. It still does have the documentation, and chargers though. The computer condition was perfect though, no scratches or dings I can see. Apple checks the computer and replaces any bad parts before putting it on the refurbished store, so technically your less likely to get a bad computer because it's checked twice. Anyway, the computer is super fast, and the retina screen is amazing. I also love how thin the computer is. It helps a lot when bringing it to school. For gaming, it plays minecraft on full settings (max render distance, graphics fancy, all particles) around 45-50 fps. Which is perfectly fine. I'd imaging that if I were recording it would the drop the fps down 5-10 frames. The i5 dual core works great, and can handle everything I throw at it. Now you may be thinking, whats the point of getting the macbook pro 13 inch retina, when you can get a macbook air 13 inch with a haswell processor, 12 hour batter life, and a intel hd 5000 graphics all for a cheaper price? Well for me, all that stuff wasn't really required, not to mention I hate the feel if the macbook air.
To sum this review up, I would easily recommend buying apple refurbished. I would also recommend getting the macbook pro retina. Macbook air and Macbook pro are great. Thanks.
