My page RPM according to AdSense is between 0.3 and 0.5. Why so low?

The majority of my videos are fullly monetized with all ad options enabled (apart from ads in the middle of video in videos less than 10 mins). 95% of videos are less than 10 mins.

My page RPM is always between 0.3 and 0.5. In general I always heard the average is about 1 page RPM. Is this just a myth? Or is it just because the last few months have been low and it will pick up closer to Christmas?

I understand most of my viewers of from the United States who have one of the higher percentages of adblock which will affect it a fair bit.

Just curious as to whether this is normal or not..

Some months are just better than others some have better ads. I don't think you are the only one I have seen a number of youtubers mention this.

I rely less on that statistic and instead just calculate it for how much I really made. My CPM on the Ad Rates page of my Analytics says $2.59, but that's just for monetized views. To find a more useful statistic, I take the "amount I made in a period of time" and divide it by "total number of views I got in the same period of time". That gives me an error on my calculator, so I have to multiply the dollar amount by 10 first.

So, for example, I got $1 and 1,812 views in a certain period of time.
$1 x 10 = 10
10 / 1812 = 0.0055
I then have to add an extra 0 to make up for multiplying by 10, so it's $0.00055 per view. Multiplied by 1,000 (to find RPM) is $0.55. So I make 55 cents per thousand views.
