My idea for my gaming channel

SkyeSanctuary

I've Got It
So I made a channel called 5 Plus Gamer and the point of it is to do Let's Plays but only games 5 years or older. Hence the name. I know the views won't be big compared to if I was doing modern stuff but I still think it will be a fun idea. Plus 5 years is not that old. Heck Uncharted 3 came out 5 years ago. Just making sure this idea will work.

Things like this have been done, of course. But it still definitely puts you outside of the main theme of gaming channels. Just keep it quality and things should work out. :)

Asking if it will work out isn't a fair question. It's completely based on you, your quality, some luck, etc.

The idea is cool. I know there's big channels playing games from like the early 90s and late 80s even. They seem to do okay.

Anything that can get you a little more specific/niche I think works well. I do indie games only (for the most part) for example.

Classic games are a great idea. If you're thinking older games like NES generation, those days had really challenging games that would be great for lets plays. Newer games get boring after awhile, while those older ones are timeless. If you have the software ability to get them, I'd suggest things like TMNT 4 Turtles in Time for the SNES, any of the Mario games, or if you want closer to modern times, try Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 if you're into these sort of games.

Honestly I think this is a great idea. A lot of YouTuber's starting off tend to use a lot of newer games especially trending games to pull an audience, but personally I find I'm the kind of viewer who watches a lot of lets plays of older games especially if it is a game that I am interested in or have previously played and loved! xD So I think this is a great idea but you honestly with YouTube you won't know what ideas are good or bad until you get out there and try out see what others think! Hope this helps! :)
