My friend Hauntsii had a 50k sub YouTube channel. He got an email about a sponsorship, and everything seemed legit. The company was real, the product was real, and the offer was about what you would expect for this kind of thing. He had just moved to a new country and could've used some of that money for rent and food. He checked out their website and clicked a couple links in the email. A few hours later, he realized he was no longer in control of his brand account. He had 2FA on, but the hackers didn't need to activate 2FA to change the brand account to a different email. He reached out to YouTube support immediately and didn't get much of a response. They said they would look into it over a week ago now. Here's what happened to his channel...
