My Account Got Deleted - Help (16k + Subs)

Liking YTtalk
Well today I switched over to one of my big channels and I got this message "Your account has been permanently disabled" no warnings or messages in my email account, no strikes on the channel (although some content id claims), nothing was monetized. I typed the url of this channel and it said this "This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, gaming misleading content or other terms of violation " So I think it may be because I had a few non-relevant tags in the description. But my question to you guys is...what can I do about it? I poured hours upon hours into these videos and to have it all go away without any warnings or anything is just diminishing.

Thanks

It's against Youtube's TOS to have non-relevant tags in the description....I'm really not sure if you can do anything about it now. But I'll move this to the Copyright Claims, Strikes & Legal Discussion of the forum for you.
Actually, it's against the ToS to have tags in the description in the first place.

Yes I know that. I just thought that because thousands of channels (including Pewdiepie) use tags like these YT just lets it go.

A reply suggesting what I can do to appeal or try to get my account back would be helpful.

People often mention PewDiePie using excessive tags but it is not true.

I haven't heard anything about anybody getting their channel back. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to the people who do follow the rules.

Another example of "other people do it so why me?". Ugh. It doesn't matter how many people do it. It's against ToS, and has been for a very long time. Just because others do it, does not mean it is okay for you to do it. I'll include the popular example of "If others were jumping off a bridge, would you join them?".

Once your channel is terminated, there's no way of getting it back. In fact, you're not even allowed to create another account.

And please, if you're going to point fingers at other YouTubers, make sure they are to blame. PewDiePie does not include tags in his descriptions.

I don't wanna read the ToS! GOSH! Reading is hard, man. Though, yeah, what KGATV said :D

Yes pewdiepie does/did use excessive tags. Just check @Spam404's recent tweets. Get your facts straight kids.
@KGATV I would check your titles, I see some violations just at a quick glance.

I did a bit of snooping around, and it looks like 1) The video that the person tweeted about was from a long time ago and 2) Google seemed to have a slightly different rule back when pewdiepie released the video, so it wasn't exactly going against ToS back then. If you look at his current videos, he doesn't do any excessive tagging in his description at all, which invalidates your argument.

Also, I don't know what kind of crack you're smoking, but I don't see anything wrong with KGATV's titles. None of them are misleading, they all seem relevant to the video.

I agree with the above, both statements. PewDiePie doesn't really even use SEO, he can post a video without tags, without a title and without a description and it will still get him a massive chunk of views. And Markkaz is right, I'm going to burst your "victim bubble" here, you made your bed, now sleep in it. I'm getting really sick of seeing YouTubers who blatantly game the system and cry out like a victim when they get caught.

Does he do it or did he do it? Cause from all the descriptions I've seen from Pewds he uses by far the most generic copy and pasted descriptions that pretty much contain his social media links, playlists etc...+ a brofist. Sometimes I don't even see him mention the game title at all in his descriptions lol. I also checked the ONE tweet (https://twitter.com/pewdiepie/status/461977624945115136) Spam404 posted about Pewds who corrected the issue for a video he didn't actually release at the time. I'm sure if there was more than 1 video with which he still had excessive tags in the description, Spam404 would not have been so lenient and brought the hammer on him. That's why I ask does he do it or did he do it? I used to do it, when I started my first channel, I would copy my tags and put them in the description, I thought I was being smart by increasing SEO chances lol Fortunately I try to think ahead a little and found out it could cost you your channel, so I got smarter and removed them. Man how embarrassing would it be if I ever got past 10k subs and got banned for something like excessive tags xD

No, this rule in the ToS has been around for way over a year now (or from what I'm aware of; long before I started YouTube back in July 2013), but it's only this year that YouTube have finally started cracking down on it, they want to start cleaning up YouTube, both a good and bad-ish thing depending on how clean they want it lol. The video in the Tweet was from Feb 2014. I'm assuming the guy he left in charge thought he was helping Pewds out by adding the extra meta data lol
