Must needs for Channel Trailer?

I've decided that I want to make a channel trailer and even after doing some research I am stumped for how to make a good one for my channel! So far I know I should make it about 30 seconds long and really push to subscribe but I'm not sure what to put in it. Will just me talking between my video clips be enough?

What should be in a good trailer?
And if anyone wants to share their own trailer that would be super helpful too!

You need lots of blood and death.... umm. Seriously though, 30 seconds seems a bit long. I wouldn't make it more than 10 seconds. I know a guy who does some good intros. Message me and I will send you a link to some of his work.

thanks! I've been looking at the designs there are some nice ones :D I'm not making an intro for videos yet though! I want to do a trailer that plays automatically for non-subs that visit my channel page. Do you think 30 seconds is too long for that as well?

Well, I can't say one way or the other. What I do at the end of my videos is I have a thing called an end card that lasts for about 20 seconds. I have a short video clip that says, "Hey guys, check out a couple more of my videos and like and subscribe". Then I have two thumbnails appear for the remaining duration of the 20 seconds that I add linked annotations of their videos to so as soon as their done with the video they don't have to search for something else to watch and it's a good idea to make sure to give them choices, that's why I have two appear. That's just what I do and I'm pretty happy with it.

Well it depends on where you are going to post in. If you want to make an Advertise out of it, then you have to grab someone's attention within first 5 seconds. Without it people are going to skip your video.

Well, it is more over the need for you to base the channel trailer around your channel. Something that sums it up in a short period, less than a minute, but also something that keeps people's attention. It is really hard to say, because, well, it is based around you.

thanks for your suggestions! I think I've been over thinking it because yes it should be about myself more than anything else.

I've been looking around at some channels and noticed that some people do a 'q and a' or an 'about me' video. I'm thinking about doing something like that. I'm going to try and keep it fairly short but very interesting. I also think its a good way to not only introduce myself and get more personal but also of course say what's going to be on my channel. I'm brainstorming some of things I should say and also thinking about ways I can keep this really interesting!

It doesn't even have to be an "about me" or an "Q&A", all it needs to do is let people know what your channel basically is. You can post your best moments together all while having a subscribe button throughout the entire thing (clickable by annotation). Then you can even add in some text or music if you feel it necessary. What do you think your channel introduction needs? A goofy mannerism you always do? What about a specific starting you might usually say? Etc etc. The list goes on.
