Music Making/Editing Software

I Love YTtalk
Looking for music editing and creation software that I could try out and eventually buy if I like it. Any suggestions? Preferably people who make music but I'm open to anyone and everything.

well its not the software its the person, i started out just recording sounds and fitting them together in cool edit pro, give it a try.
 
The only ones I know are fruit loops studio and garage band, they're pretty much self explanatory, there are a couple of countdown top 10 lists about youtube :)
 
I use Cubase le 4, its slightly outdated but still does the job. My most recent video is of me showing how I record. I'm studying to be an audio engineer, and it most deffanatly is the person not the hardware/software
 
Adobe has a trial version of Audition. It will serve 95% of purposes most people can throw at it.
