Multiple of the same comments on their own videos??

Helloooooo!

So as i've posted about before my twin boys love watching egg surprise opening videos and it astounds me how much views those videos get.

But when i've looked at a few videos to try and grasp the views they get, they are uploaded and almost instantly top of the search for 'surprise eggs' literally 3/4 hours after being uploaded and have 15-20k views in a few hours. I don't get how instantly the video can be top of the search for what i am assuming is the most searched for these types of videos?

But one thing i seen was that in the comments of these videos there would be 5/6 comments from the channel itself with a link to that video and a couple of hash tags for stuff related to that video.

My question is does anyone know what this is about? Does it help with search ranking? Is it frowned upon within the YT community? Is it against YT rules?

Well, as far as I know, back-linking to your video helps it to rank better in the search engine, although I am not sure whether this method in question helps or not. However, if the channel(s) you are talking about are already bigger sized, they might just rank well right from the start. I have first hand experience with this, as my channel grew to a point, I noticed that sometimes my freshly uploaded video would rank high for really basic and highly searched terms (such as just the title of the song I covered). Nowdays every video I upload stays really high (I'm talking 1st and 2nd place) for these basic and relevant terms for a few days. Long story short, if your channel already has an established audience, your video(s) might just rank better. I hope that makes sense haha, I've been aways from the forums for a while.

thanks for the reply Peter, well compared to other similar channels it has a low sub rate around 13k compared to 100's of thousands with other channels. I'm relatively new to YT so how does backlinking work? Is it simply putting the link of your video into your own video? Wouldn't that just be classed as spam? haha
