Our little life UK

I've Got It
Hey guys, (Hope this is in the write forum)

Well we are coming to an end of doing our daily vlogs, once we have reached day 365 we have done a full year without missing a day!!!

Anyway we are thinking of other video ideas we would like to do on youtube but not as a bigger schedule as daily vlogs, being an avid movie fan myself I was considering doing movie reviews on youtube of what I thought of a certain movie.

I have been doing some research watching other movie reviewers just to see if people watch or enjoy these reviews.

However I have some questions regarding the videos that I would do myself:
Can I include pictures IE Movie posters for that particular movie which I would get from the internet without any copyright issues? Especially when monetizing etc.

Can I include a short 10 - 20 sec clip at different intervals of the movie trailer without any copyright issues?

What would make the watcher enjoy the review more, IE I intend on giving my opinion of the film and what I would give it as a score or recommendation etc.

Would these videos appeal to others or is it all done to much on youtube?

I cannot think of any other questions it's mainly the use of pictures and trailer clips, which after looking at other reviewers videos they do use them.

In order to do a good movie review, you'd need to show clips from the movie - ideally not from a trailer that people will have seen already. You'd want to review the movie, not the trailer! You will not have the rights to these clips though - even if you purchase the movie on DVD its for private use only and cannot be shared publicly. Saying that, I dont think you would have rights to use clips from a trailer either, as its still parts of the movie itself.

Personally, I dont think Ive ever checked YouTube for a movie review. I tend to use an app, or go by others word etc.

There a sooooo many of them already and some of them are professional reviews. reviewing movies is a job. you need copyright knowledge, money and a lot of inside information to be worth watching (in my point of view). you need content no one could find out himself.

"Honest Reviews" is a great benchmark for this sort of thing. You'll have trouble getting it off the ground, but if you could it would be so much fun to edit and come up with jokes for !

Good luck man :)

Thanks for the information guys, I would mainly do it for fun as I am always watching films anyway so considered doing my own video on it with my own opinion of the film, I have seen other reviews who use pictures / trailers and wondered if I could do that as well. However will consider this more and see if it is something I want to do. Thanks again

I am new to reviewing myself. I think my videos are funny and engaging enough to hold people to the end, and I have some quite interesting opinions. I've had a lot of positive feedback about my videos, so if you're interested in doing movie reviews you should definitely have a look around to figure out what you want to talk about and what style of reviewer you want to be. I'm very informal, more like a friendly chat as opposed to "here are the facts, opinion opinion opinion, 3 out of 5."

You should check out my channel and have a look at my vids, I try to upload as often as possible (although not daily like you... wow!)
