Movie Review Format

Hi guys,
My channel is about video game reviews and that's going fine but since I see quite a lot of movies at the cinema, usually once a week sometimes more I was considering branching out to movie reviews, I just don't know how to go about it.

My game reviews are relatively short 3-5 minute videos where I talk over some gameplay which relates to what I'm saying. The problem here is movie reviews wouldn't have that kind of content to relate to what I'm saying and I don't have a camera to record myself either. I did think about the video gimmick being the review is the length of the trailer and then use the trailer for the video l but I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit in with fair use and it sounds a bit crappy anyway.

Any suggestions?

If you don't have a camera at the moment, there's always the option of audio-reviews with you using an avatar or some footage of the material playing in the video, while you say what you have to say

Honestly I really like the yourmoviesucks.org version of video reviews. A little bit of background info, some gripes or praises in the middle, and wrap up at the end. Usually you won't get into too much problems as long as you're talking for pretty much the whole time, as well as not using the whole clips (trailers or interviews). Also having an avatar breaking in to talk would be bad during some parts, or cutting it to yourself if you like to be in front of the camera while reviewing.

Since there are usually multiple trailers released I might try it by doing a mish-mash of footage from them and maybe some interviews with the cast. There's usually plenty of that around. Sound good?

If you haven't made one before I recommend watching some of the bigger Youtube movie reviewers (Schmoes Know, Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, TheFlickPick). Watch them and how they go about making their videos, however make sure you do not copy their style and just go with what you think makes it good.

I'm a fan of Chris Stuckmann's stuff but thing is I don't have a camera and I'm trying to avoid the similarities to those guys while keeping it similar to my gaming stuff. I'll figure something out though.

If the movie you're reviewing is a sequel, Remake or Reboot you always use footage from the prievious installment. To be fair, this'd probably account for 85% of the films hollywood produce. That way you'd only really need to use trailer footage for a small amount of films.
