I have been looking at ideal cameras for the past couple of weeks, and for awhile I came to the conclusion of investing in for the sony HDR cx220. There were mixed reviews... but it seemed affordable to me. Selling about 160-200$. What are some good cameras you people use out there? That are affordable (around a couple hundred). The reason why im not sure on the sony hdr cx220 is that peole say there is buzzing sound in the audio after recording... and you cant have that!

I'd say the 50D is a great option for a couple of hundred, but then I remembered you'd need a separate audio recorder and such :/

Bumping this thread.

I am just beginning what I hope will be a long and successful YouTube career. I will be filming outside, at a distance in noisy environments. I already have a Canon FS100 and a Samsung Galaxy S3 smart phone, but I don't think that the picture quality on either of these is really good enough.

My intention is to get a camcorder based solely on excellent picture quality, and then record audio separately with a voice recorder and a lavalier mic.

If anyone can recommend specific camcorders, or thing to look out for etc. then it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, please give any feedback on what I've said so far too!

i had a t2i not long ago cheap and the video looked great also you can add magic lantern on it makes it even better
