Montage Subtitles/Captions

Can someone explain to me how people edit in text subtitles that mirror what they are saying in the video? For example, when Pewdiepie or TheRPGMinx make montages, they have subtitle text at the bottom that follows their speech so people can read along with what they are saying, further emphasizing their funny comments. Does anyone know how to easily do this?

tha can be done with easiest softwares like windows movie maker to sony vegas. its just adding text to the scene

not quite, you can turn off captions. You can't just turn off text that embedded into the video.
There's is a way to do caption in Sony Vegas, if your using Sosy Vegas I could send you this video that shows you how to to caption in vegas and upload them to youtube

I don't think she's after captions, captions are like actual subtitles, the 1s pewdiepie and mariplier use are edited in. Captions show up in really crappy font as well.
