Hi there, I've been looking forward to starting a youtube channel about GTA V and GTA V only. Not like a let's play video channel but rather a Tips and Tricks / Tutorial informative channel about the new and upcoming PC version where I will talk about the Online game mode, review DLC's, etc.
I have a little studio set up (mixer, studio mic, studio monitors, a decent PC and I want to get a video capture card).
I have skills in video editing, photoshop, audio editing and modding. I really want to do this channel the right way, I've been thinking for a long time about this and putting all my ideas on paper. I'm a die hard GTA fan and this is what I want to do.
The only thing I'm not familiar with is the whole google partnership and networks business.
Regarding Rockstar's (the company who created the game) copyright policy I found this:
(www) support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200153756-Policy-on-posting-copyrighted-Rockstar-Games-material
They don't actually say anything about monetizing your youtube videos, they just say that you shouldn't use spoilers, cut-scenes, radio music, in game tv-shows and entertainment scenes. Or the "Non-commercial use" reference refers also to monetizing on youtube?
I would like to start professional with this channel from graphics, voice, material to titles descriptions and everything else but I'm not sure how does this monetizing thing works and I wanted to know in advance if I have a chance of being a YT partner with this kind of channel.
Any knowledge regarding this specific example?
EDIT:
I've contacted take2 (the company that owns rockstar) regarding this issue and they replied with this, tho I think its left for interpretation don't you think?
"Thank you for contacting us. We do not provide specific permission for videos. Information on the Rockstar Games YouTube policy can be found here: (and then they added the link I shared above)"
