So "monetize or not to monetize" this is the quetion I ask you today.
I know that the ads on your videos, wether banners or skips ad videos and now donation card, can make you money if you get enough views but they can also be annoying or uncomfortable for viewers. Also many ppl have add blocker software so u may get nothing anyway. There are also other ways to make money by sponsorship deals and affiliate links and stuff like that which is less annoying or sometimes even nice to see depending on the deal and how the YouTuber presents it, but u can't (or it's really hard to) get sponsorships till u have about 1000+ subs so easy thing is just to monetize. So should I monetize, wait till I possible get 1k+ subs, do both or don't do any of it?
(I'm not on YT just to make money of course but it's still something I believe, me and other YouTubers should think about) thanks for any feedback in advance. Also this tread is not just for experienced YouTubers, if ur new and u got good advice/questions share it plz. Thanks guys

I see no problem in monetizing your videos. What if one of them get you tons of views and goes viral? Any profit you could have made is gone out of the window. I think we're all use to ads by now that it really doesn't bother us anymore. As long as you're not asking for donations I don't think your viewers will mind. I don't have on 15 second skippable ads just for reference and it doesn't seem to have an affect on whether or not people watch.

I say monetize your channel early, especially if you want YouTube to be a hobby/ career. As your channel grows and you earn more subs, the average views per video will increase, thus giving you a steady flow of ad revenue that you could put towards improving the quality of your content. It doesn't have to be for the money, but the extra funds could be beneficial with getting new equipment or whatever could help make your channel better.

Monetising is much more flexible, as you can select the type of ad formats you wish, which makes it great if you dont want to include types such as the long skippable ones at the start! It also means you can generate some revenue from your content, which will help in the long run. Also, Youtube by default has an option that has pre-selected to display ads on your videos, so its seems pointless not to!

(All opinions are my own)

Hope this helps!

That's true they do have an ad displayed on the side if your video so u can make money off of that anyway Thx for input

It's all depending on if you think you're going to turn a profit with your videos.

Whats your daily view count?

In my experience there is absolutely no point monetizing videos if your not getting hundreds of views a day, just focus on building up your audience and improving video quality first

yea that sounds about right, I have anywhere from 2-20 views per day
