ModestBranding becomes ExtremeBranding?

I have a YouTube playlist of 100+ videos embedded in a Wordpress theme website that is about 1-year old. Initially, I had to do a fair amount of tweaking with it to get it to perform and look "just right". For the most part, it has functioned flawlessly almost from the beginning. I have used the "modestbranding" parameter to give it as clean and stylish a look as possible.

Yesterday morning while reviewing my site, it was somewhat shocking to see that "titling" or graphics were suddenly appearing across the tops of every video in the playlist. The titles only appear for about 5-seconds as the video begins to play and then dissolve... the only good thing in this fiasco.

This title or "credits" information (that is quite prominent) contains a playlist graphic which shows what numbered video it is in terms of the whole playlist (24/108). There's an icon that illustrates either the artist or musician featured in the video. There's also the Title of the music video and buttons which enable sharing the video and/or watching it later.

In my opinion, it is unsightly and ruins my clean, seamless concept. Does anybody know what is going on with this? I am not a code writer or programmer, but I have tried re-working the parameters to get rid of this "extreme" branding and it's not happening. I am amazed I am not seeing a whole lot more about this on YouTube forums. Is anybody else trying to deal with this nonsense? It's kind of a malicious trick or betrayal. Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
