I am building a large home on minecraft, i have the space ( plus planning permission), i just need to know if you have any ideas what rooms to make, i am thinking; bedroom, nether portal room, chest room, library, dungeon. But i need more, any ideas would be appreciated, there is a video if you want to know the size.

My first thought as well.

Is the intent for all of the rooms to be functional? Or can they be for show?

In most of my houses, I had a sort of "watch tower" at the top, that was just a floor and glass walls to look out through. I also had a "furnace" room that was just a room with a trapdoor on it connected to a button. Underneath the trap door was lava, and the button opened it. Made an easy way to get rid of gravel and sand and such.

If you have multiple locations to travel too, you can link them all via cart, then have a "cart hub" in your house.

well you can build a fridge, which will then provide you with food,also you can put crafting boxes and ovens in the kitchen so it kinda is funcitonal. that's how i did it^^
 
I like the "furnace" room idea! also you could possibly make a mob spawner, another great idea is a farm outside of your house, or even underground!
