Microphone Suggestions

I've Got It
Hi,

I need an affordable good quality mic for my tech videos. There's a lot of noise where I live so, I'd require a good noise cancelling mic. My voice has to be clear and sharp.

I've heard about the Samson Go Mic and thats exactly what I'm looking for.

If you guys know a mic of the same quality, but cheaper, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ayush

Blue Yeti, Audio Technica AT2020. Etc.

I use the Audio Technica AT-2020, but am looking into the Blue Yeti, since it has many options, that the AT-2020 does not. Like the option to switch between these modes: bidirectional, omnidirectional, cardioid, stereo.

Also it has a nice desktop stand, my AT-2020 is attached to a boom pole that gets in the way alot.

When using it as a desk recording mic you'd only ever use Cardioid.

For the stand issue, I have two suggestions. Hit up Amazon and search for Microphone Arm. This gets you easily movable stands that can be put out of the way easily.

Or search for "microphone gooseneck stand" for stands similar to the Yeti stand but generic for all mics. Any shock mount or boom mounted mic will work with these as they use standard threading.

Any music equipment store worth their salt will have both as well.

You could check out the Rode SmartLav. It plugs into an iPhone with the corresponding app (Rode Record) and it has a great sound. It's only about $60 for the mic and $5 for the app.
