I have no idea what's going wrong. I tried recording my first video in a month on my new computer and my voice audio was terrible. I used Fraps originally, then OBS, same result. I opened Audacity to test it out and the audio was flawless. What could be the problem? I am at a complete loss and I refuse to put out videos without great audio, so if anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Are you making sure to apply the correct audio source in all of those programs?
If you mean to make sure its picking up the right device, yes. I unplugged my webcam and checked the settings and both were picking it up. It sounds like it's coming from my mic but its being muffled or something.

What I would do for backup, is while recording my audio through the actual software, I also keep audacity on all the time.
So I always get two audios to work with. One with the video and separate one from Audacity. Sure, there needs to be a little syncing work done. but it takes less time.
