Matched Third Party Content

So I had my first "Matched Third Party Content" message on a video that I had wrestling clips in that I talked over. I did a lot of reading, but I was curious as to some of yall's personal experiences with this and what truly happens if I click "Acknowledge".

I understand why this happened, but thought with my voice over it I wouldn't be able to monetize it, but would not get a strike either. If it is this bad, I am amazed people like Botchamania and some other shows get away with it. Maybe you guys can shed some light onto this and I appreciate your input.

This might be a good use for the audio removal tool. Go to video manager, edit the video and choose audio at the top. It will try to remove (or dramatically reduce) the audio and make the video compliant which removes the match. I used it to great effect on one of my videos.

Ultimately, if you have a content match and the video is still available, it's an indication that the company has elected to simply monetize your video. If they wanted it taken down, it already would be. So you're unlikely to get a strike unless you start to fight it. So if you fight it, make damn sure you have a proper fair use defense.

I tried to remove the audio but it says my audio is 'original'. I hope you are right about what you said though. I have no plans to monetize, nor do I wish to fight it. I just want my video to be to be viewed and not receive a strike. Thanks for the input.

Odd. Usually when you have a content match even in the copyright section where you read the claim it will have a popup for the audio removal tool. At least that's what it did for me.
