I was planning to record Tales of Vesperia soon, but I know that all of the videos will get 3rd party content match on them. Is this something I should care about? Not planning on joining a network for a good while anyway.

Well, that warning means that the copyright holder has claimed ownership over the video content. They will simply ask for acknowledgement, disable any monetization on the video and then place their own ads on the video and too the side, so they can make money from it. EA being one of the big pains, doing this for lots of BF3 videos
Often you don't need to do anything, but you should be aware that if they do this it means they have noticed that you don't own that video and they could force its removal giving you a copyright strike. Most don't do this as they want $$$$ but its a possibility. Try and make sure it has commentary or a significant change on it, so it can try and fall under fair use![]()
