Masked or unmasked?

Hey,

i`m thinking about making guitar videos like "how to play" things, "gear rundown", backstage stuff and something like that. The thing is me and my band is always wearing masks on stage. Its similar with Bands like Ghost, Slipknot or Gwar.
Now im thinking about beeing masked or unmasked in youtube videos. I`m very interested in what do you think. Please let me know your opinions.

Dang, bro. That's tough. Personally, I love masks. I love everything about them, I love the intrigue, I love the mystique, I love the ability to protect your identity, love it. I also see why being unmasked would draw people in, based on fandom that already exists. I think the answer rests in how you want to be portrayed on video. Some people see a rock star and think they're always rock stars, so you'd be performing while offstage in a way. Being unmasked would let you connect to people on a level they might not be able to with your stage persona. So, think of who you want watching.

You guys look awesome, by the way.

This reminds me of a few shuffle dancers I saw on instagram a few days back. They're really popular and all friends with each other, and most wear masks. Very few of them take them off, and it's what their known for. It's all about branding. Depends up to you, but it would help make you stand out more. I wear my bandana a fair amount, just because it's both useful and a colorful part of me that instantly solidifies my brand as I will grow over the years.

You right. You so right. You the rightest.
If you got flair, might as well flaunt it.

@ProfessionalRik thanks a lot!
Your both right, thats exactly the point im thinking about. Thinking as a fan i want to see the personality of the musicians because i know, and i think everybody knows, we`re not only 24/7 Rockstars but also normal people. Doing the make up and wearing a mask is not a problem for planned videos, its just difficult for "behind the scenes" or backstage videos.

I don't like slipknot cause of their masks lmao jk. But I think its a very unique idea, and you can definitely get a specific audience of people who enjoy hard rock, and metal. Definitely a good idea, but I would switch it up depending on the band :) or just have one mask that you specifically go by :)

@ashleynicholsonvlogs sure, i wear a Voodoo style mask. Just like the pic from my avatar.

Thanks for your opinions. I think it would be more unique wearing a mask. It`s easier without a mask so it depends on the video.

You should stay masked, because if that's how you preform that's how you want people to see you on youtube, and people will remember you because of the masks.

I think you should not wear your mask while on YouTube doing YouTube stuff. Simply because, the band and your performances should be unique and the masks are part of that performance. It could also be a selling point for your channel as fans of your music will no doubt want to see what is under the mask and your channel could provide that for them.
