Manually focus?

I've not actually seen a camcorder that can manual focus before so thats something new. I ended up buying a DSLR just so I had that option, not being able to change focus during filming was a huge pain :)

So yeh, DSLR's are usually good and some camcorders supposedly, I'd always go for a DSLR though :D

A lot of camcorders can focus manually, but the vast majority of them require using the touch screen where each press adjusts the focus incrementally. This makes it nearly impossible to achieve a smooth focusing effect and adds a ton of vibration to the shot even if you have the camera tripod mounted. Higher end camcorders will add a focus ring either on the lens or on the front of the camera so you can focus in a similar fashion to a DSLR.

Thanks for all the replies! I really appreciate it! :)

Exactly! One of the main reasons why I want a new camera as well! It just gives videos that realistic effect or I'm sure you get what I mean.
