Making videos ahead! Does anyone do this?

BillyVlogsTV

I Love YTtalk
I am going try to make aleast 2/3 videos ahead till the 2nd/3rd Sunday of September but 1st i am going to upload my new video on my Youtube channel today or tomorrow then after i start making 2/3 videos ahead. and in that time i won't be uploading any videos and when i upload a new video on Youtube then i make another video every week to keep 2/3 videos ahead so i won't miss my upload date.

Because i upload videos for about a couple weeks then i won't be able to upload for couple weeks because i have been busy or i haven't unable to get my new Youtube video on time!

For example this summer i haven't been able to upload any videos since the middle of June because i have been on holiday or been busy or haven't been get my video ready(redoing the wrong bits) and it is getting annoying as i want to stay consistent uploading videos every week.

I am wondering is making 2/3 videos ahead good instead of making videos on the go and risk of missing your upload date? Do any Youtubers do this?

I think it be better for me anyway! :)

I used to make the first Carlos episodes in a day, I literally came home from school, filmed the video, edited it and scheduled it for the next week.
I tried to work on future episodes but they didn't come out as the way I liked them so I stopped working on that show.
It's been over 6 months or something since the last episode came out, I actually have some undeveloped ideas that I should make sometime along with other videos, I should probably work on this when school starts and make videos ahead so I can upload weekly videos and maybe even 2 videos a week.

Since I work during the week, I found it's easier to make my videos on the weekend, and then upload them throughout the week. It's SO much easier because I don't have to worry about filming and editing a video before I start work (or somehow fitting it in around my weekday schedule). I think it's the key to making consistent content and balancing it with life.

Granted, it was a little strange at first just having the video done and not uploading it immediately, but it seems to work for me. :p

I keep a small catalog of non-topical videos I can upload if I run into any problems, but generally I have been making them and uploading them one at a time.

There are certain videos I try to edit and upload immediately after shooting them (if they're based around a specific event), but on average I attempt to schedule my videos for at least a week in advance. With my severe case of laziness, this doesn't always work, but I TRY!

If you have the time, then having a backlog of videos ready to upload could definitely help ease any stress that might come from being "behind."

I used to just upload videos randomly whenever but recently I started doing a video every Tuesday, which is a ton of work because I do music cover videos where I record, mix, master, shoot, then edit them it can sometimes take more than a week. So right now I'm about a month ahead of my schedule and it feels really good. A lot less stress then when I was worried about not being finished them in time and a better schedule then just doing it randomly. I hope I can keep it up :up2:

I always have two or three video ideas planned, just in case I realize that I will be away at some point and unable to film. Then, I shoot and edit videos in advance. I load them as Private on YouTube. Then when it is time for each to go live, I just publish to Public. But I don't do videos in advance if I don't have to. I don't know how people do daily videos!
