Mac Screen Recording Software Help!

So I'm wanting to try recording games like Minecraft or Castle Crashers however my computer tends to not record the screen without lag when I record higher quality games. I even set my display to the lowest it can go just to be able to screen record my past games without lag.

Can anyone help with this problem? I think it's the recording software I use but I could be wrong. Maybe it's the computer itself? It's an iMac but I am in the process of buying a gaming PC. In the mean time though, what's a good screen recording software that may help this issue?

What program are you using? I think that it sounds more like the computer than the program if you have any type of reputable program.

Using the pre-installed Quicktime one. My issue is I don't want to waste money on a new screen recorder that will end up not working well either.

Hmm... I've never used that. I guess the question is whether or not your computer lags for the game itself, or anything else, really. Do you find a lot of lag on your computer, or does that only appear when you're watching your captured video?

It only happens with certain games. If you watch my Pulse video you will see what I mean. And it happens as I'm playing it, not just in the video. The rest of the time though the computer is fine. Doesn't lag watching videos or playing games UNLESS I'm screen capturing.

It sounds like this program is the one making your computer lag. You either need a more powerful computer (or add some ram chips to this one), or you need to try to make the computer focus on the capturing and game only. So, next time you record with it, close all other applications except for the game and the capturing system. Or you could look up buying a new program that might work better. Good luck! :)
