[LP] Review my latest video? Looking for feedback on audio :)

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to this whole lets play kinda shin dig despite being a veteran of YouTube (first upload was in March 2006! WHUAT?!)

This is probably the first time I'm taking it seriously :)

Here's the video in question, I changed some of my settings and compressed the audio pretty hard but I think it had an okay output? To be honest I'm falling in and out of love of my commentary track like mad.

I will be back in about four to five hours to give feedback on other people's threads. :)

I'm glad you think so. I am a producer IRL so maybe I was being too critical of myself. My current mic is a Blue Yeti so it's not idea as it picks up a hell of a lot of ground noise (tapping, mouse moving and such) so I made the decision to cut out much of the lows. In doing that I feel it may be a little too crunchy sounding, almost as if I have put saturation on it. It's maybe not the most balanced signal, and that is my worry.
 
I wouldn't worry too much. For voice, almost anything is good enough. I have recorded with multi thousand dollar mics, to cheap 20 bucks mics, and they all sound good enough. Hell, yesterday a friend lent me his zoom h4n, and I just left it near my feet recording with it's onboard mics. It sounded great! As you can check in my 100 subscriber video. Didn't even EQ the damn thing.
While the more expensive mics do take a little EQ!
 
Agh I'll probably just be replacing my Yeti with another cheap condenser. AT2020 most likely. My biggest quarrel with the Yeti is the stand. Also if I could record through a rack, I could have consistent audio across all of my future videos without having to do any post production.

Maybe it's just my background but in gaming lets plays I think audio is the most important part. The gameplay will be pretty much the same for anyone, it's the audio that's different.

Although you only asked about review in audio I need to tell that I really liked the video! I haven't had the time to watch the thing (since it's 04:11 a.m. right now...) but the aight minutes I saw where really entertaining and if wouldn't know that you're a small YouTube I'd expect you to have half a million subs minimum! Your audio is really good! Don't worry about it, just keep making video and you'll get big soon!

You shouldn't be falling out of love with your commentary, it's really good. The video is great, I was really surprised you didn't have more subs - I expected you to have at least a couple thousand (and that's lowballing it).

Woah! Thanks man! I think I'm just being overly sensitive about the audio since it's pretty much my career to make things sound good and this is still pretty new to me so I don't really understand fully HOW a LP should sound.
