Lowering the bass in my voice in editing

hey ya i have a pretty deep voice and i think i need to adjust some kind of level just a hair so it don't sound like a drop hehe(well maybe not that deep ). anyways how should i adjust it in vegas? i tried playing around with the graphics EQ and i tried a few combos of the middle and left side and didn't work too well. got any suggestions?

Well I use Audacity to record audio. You can raise / lower the pitch, speed, etc in that. It's a free, lightweight program. Also it can remove background noises like a computer's humming.
