Classy Science
In my videos, sometimes I like to illustrate key points and terminology using text, since I make science videos. I used to just make static text, but recently I have used motion tracking, and tracking the object I'm describing and tracking it. You can see many examples of that in one my "Is Math Real?" video, after 0:40. In this video specifically, motion tracking fits it better, but usually I just add one or two terms instead of lots of text.

But many newscasts and documentaries use lower thirds, a quick google search for lower thirds will help you find some. It can be smaller or bigger, on the sides or the middle, depending on usage. It just has to be at the bottom third of the video.

Which do you think is better? Which do you think looks more professional? Thanks

Sorry I didn't link any examples, apparently no links allowed in this forum.

I have used both in various projects.. Normally I use lower thirds when introducing a person or a place.. and animated Text for defining a term or to make a point.

lower thirds works best if you making daily or bi daily videos, if its weekly, just use motion tracking, you got the time.

In terms of look, no one really pays attention to it, its a quick distraction of the eyes that allows for a topic to be better explained or recognized.
