Dear YTtalk community,

I am new to the forum, but I have been running my YT channel for a little over a year now. I've had some moderate success gathering 2,700+ subscribers and close to 700k lifetime views. I get on average 1,500k views a day, most of which are monetized.

I make original, high quality dance videos (9 of them so far), and I plan on ramping up the output soon to a video every week or two. I was offered a partnership a few months after creating my channel by an Israeli-Russian youtube network, but I was too wary of joining a network back then (and still am now, but realize that adsense is a losing deal).

Do any experienced YTers out there who have joined MCNs have any advice for which one would be a good fit for my channel and what kind of gains I can expect to see?

Thank you so much your help!

It really depends on what you'd like the network to do for you. For example, I joined the one I'm with because the community is really close knit, there isn't a lock-in contract, and revenue split isn't half bad either. Not only that, but they actually help your channel get exposure, where as some networks just make false promises. So, it's really entirely up to you, if you want to join a network or not. With the numbers you said, I'm sure you can join a network and be absolutely fine.

Just make sure that if you decide to go with a network that the network is working for the split they take from you. Most contracts now are 60/40. I suggest to run away screaming from those. If it is 80/20 or 90/10 for the channel the size of yours it would be worth looking into. Take a look at everything they offer you if you think they are earning their split then go with them.

Thank you for your responses, SiegeTV & PressRecord. Is the 60/40 split in addition to YouTube's cut or instead of their 45% cut (I've heard that was YT's cut via adsense)?

@ PressRecord: Do you know any specific networks that offer an 80/20 split?
@ SiegeTV: Which network did you join without having to sign a lock-in contract?

The point of most MCNs now is money.

If you can't find one that is offering you atleast 85%+ and shows proof of the instream sales they can do to make up for the cut then there isn't much point in going with them.

Going of your content, finding a network that specifically targets that in sales may be hard, off the top of my head maybe someone like The Collective or Omnia Media.

A new network called Dionite Studios. Their a growing network, and I decided to join them to grow with them. So far it's really been amazing.

All I get from BoomVideo at the moment (until they reply to the email I sent 3 days ago asking about getting approved for licensed music to do covers) is instant partnership when I signed with them....and a great group of people within the network to talk to online. For that, they take 40%. I'm looking to relocate, in a network sense, in November.
