A month old topic yeah but I thought I'd just pop in (yes pun intended) and say that you don't necessarily need to mount the popfilter on the microphone stand.
If you have a pop filter that's meant to be mounted on a circular surcface, you can search for something in your home that it would fit on, place that thing close to the mic and go nuts. As long as you're putting the pop filter between your mouth and the mic, you're golden.

If you want to be cheap you can just use a wire hanger and a sock haha. However, check Craigslist or any local classifieds - you can probably find a good deal there.
