Looking for a good free video editor.

At the moment I'm using Windows Live Movie Maker, and I would like to get something better. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to buy a good video editor. So I'm wondering what a good, free, video editing tool/software would be.

I absolutely love VideoPad! nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html They have a free and a paid version, but I actually like the free version more. It's got a lot of great effects, transitions, and features!

Yeah I've used it with Windows 7 before. No word on Windows 8 though.

Well a lot of people prefer to use newer software so seeing something old, but feature rich, doesn't really excite them. But you're right, it's quite good.
