Long distance collab ideas? :)

Ciarra deBritto

Bringing your imagination to life.
Hey guys! I wanna do a few collabs with some internet buddies but of course we all live in different states!
Do you have any suggestions on what we could do for a video collaboration?
Thanks in advance :D

Your avatar is amazing, holy wow.
Ok ok, anyway.
I did a collab a few weeks ago and I was scouring online for basically what you are asking now and some people suggesting doing a google hangout and recording it? But I personally, was having issues because google was being silly that day and kept dropping our call.
We ended up doing a skype call and recording each other on the screen (I have a mac and just whipped up Quicktime Player and did "video recording") then I had him send over his video then put it side-by-side in iMovie and matched up the audio with the visuals.
Honestly though, I'm just gonna keep an eye on this thread because I would love to see other peeps' response for a better way to do this...
Good luck, Ciarra :)

Hey thank you for the compliment! :D
I'll definitely look into doing a Skype call or something with Google Hangouts! I'll have to brain storm a bit. :)

While you're at it try this idea too! First off, go to my channel by clicking out the button below for more information. I'm Galvin and I'm a fingerstyle guitar player so I upload covers of pop songs on my guitar.

Since you're doing videos especially videos like Google Hangouts or Skype Calls, there's bound to be background music. So, it would be great if you can use my covers as background music to one of your videos! Don't worry, the video made will be uploaded on your channel.

There are 3 songs you can choose now.
See You Again - Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
Take Me To Church - Hozier
I'm Not The Only One - Sam Smith

You can find the covers on my YouTube channel. Do tell me which one and I'll send you the mp3 file for you to put in the background of your video.

What you'll have to do is
1. Mention my cover video and channel right before the end of your video.
2. Include the link of my cover video and channel on the end of the video while you mention it in annotations.
3. Include the link of my cover video and channel in the description box.
4. When you promote your videos you'll have to mention my cover and channel too.

On top of that, what I will do in exchange is
1. Putting your video in the Collaboration playlist on my channel page.
2. Share your video to my viewers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, mentioning you.

If you think that is okay, get in touch with me!

I'll keep this in mind, but in my videos I primarily use electronic music and not acoustic stuff!

I'd try to take advantage of the long distance part! Maybe try to come up with a list of thingsthat you think are strictly local to where you live (e.g. food, slang, sayings, what you call certain things, how you pronounce words, etc..) and email it to your long-distance collaboration friends. Then they get to film themselves guessing what the things on the list are/mean with no help from Google. Maybe then reveal what the list items mean through a skype chat, to catch their reactions. I remember when I first heard about Koolaid Pickles, a food from the Southern US...I was like.. "Koolaid?!? and Pickles!?!?! Together at last?! ...wut? " It might be fun! =)
